The Family Man project evaluated the effectiveness of a new, brief, father-friendly online parenting program to improve father engagement, child behaviour and promote positive parent-child interactions via evidence-based strategies.
Findings of the randomised controlled trial showed that both fathers and mothers who received the Family Man intervention reported significantly less child behaviour problems, less ineffective parenting, parenting stress, disorganisation in the home, conflict over parenting between parents, as well as improved parent wellbeing and parenting confidence, when compared to those in the Waitlist group. The findings of this study are important as this is the first study to show that a very brief online father-friendly parenting program is effective for both fathers and mothers.
